Default God Writes the Songs...

Made me cry... I hate it when he does that.

Some of you know by now that when I translate scriptures from the Bible, I put the picture that get's lost in translation back into it. Other translators don't because they are afraid they are adding to the word of God. I don't follow this line of thinking. I just wanted to share one of my all-time favorite scriptures.

My translation of Jeremiah 29:11 is, For I see and perceive you. I have acquired knowledge by becoming acquainted with you through sight and touch. I understand you through experience. I know you by name. I know you face to face. I meditate on My purposes for you and compose them like a song. I hold you in great esteem says Yahweh. MY meditations and purposes for you are composed like a song, not with evil or wicked manner of thinking or acting and not with hurtful things but holding you in great esteem, to bring you wholeness of body, security and tranquility of mind and spirit, making you complete and giving you peace. My face has never been deformed from anger towards you. I have never raised My voice to you. I will never break you down, leave you crushed or humiliated. I give to you an end filled with hope and expectation through the twisting and binding together of all my thoughts and plans for you.

Shalom,
Robert

Hi everyone! This is my first comment on the forum. I am thrilled to be here! But its 12:30am my time... probably you are all sleeping. Thats ok, I am still happy to be here! I am so blessed by this translation from Robert. It gives me the picture of being wrapped securely in the arms of my beloved... no worries... no fear.... just security and assuredness. I needed this tonite.
Hope to spend some time getting to know you all and chatting with you!
Shalom v'shalom

Brenda,

I love this one too. It speaks hope and encouragement into my life. Pours oil into the wounds...

We're very glad you're here and we're all looking forward to getting to know you better as well, friend.

If we can do anything for you, just let us know, ok?
